First up this weekend are the all-conquering Junior Women who will be looking to continue their unbeaten run with a game against second place Tayside Musketeers on Friday night in Abrbroath. The teams last met only 6 days ago at Portobello when the Kats ran out convincing winners at 65-41. Coaches Emma and Tracey will not be taking this game lightly though as Tayside have only lost this season to St Mirren and Kats and could be dangerous on their home court, however if Kats play to their potential they should prove too strong for Tayside.
On Saturday the men's teams travel to Paisley to take on St Mirren. The Cadet Men get things started in what will be a preview of February's Scottish Cup Final. Kings will expect a tough game against the unbeaten league leaders. Coaches Steven and Mark will be looking for a big improvement on the heavy defeat that Kings suffered the last time the teams met back in October and when this Kings team are firing on all cylinders they can live with anyone so it should be an intriguing match up.
Next on court on Saturday are the Junior Men who will be hoping to lift themselves after the disappointment of losing out to Blaze in last week's game and the relative league positions would indicate a straightforward win for Kings. In the reverse fixture Kings got the win by 75-58 but will be taking nothing for granted.
Last game on Saturday is the basketballscotland Game of the Week as the Senior Men take to the floor. Both teams have something to prove with St Mirren suffering a surprise defeat last weekend at the hands of Glasgow University and Kings looking to reverse the cup semifinal defeat by St Mirren.
Sunday sees the Junior Women play again in a top v bottom clash with Lady Rocks in Glasgow. The last two meetings of the teams were a much closer affair that the league positions would lead you to believe with the league game only going Kats way by 2 points! Lets hope Kats have something left after their late night on Friday, early nights all round on Saturday!
The Junior Men play Tayside in Division 2 at Holy Rood and will be hoping to continue their run of wins in this league against a team still looking for their first win of the season.
Similarly to the Cadet Men our Senior Women also face their Cup Final opponents, Lady Rocks, on Sunday. This will be a tough game as Rocks are the only undefeated team in the Senior Women League and they took a 6 point victory home with them after the last game at Portobello. However if Kats can repeat the form they showed in last Saturday's game, few would bet against them.
The last game of the weekend will see the Cadette Women face a big task against one of the Scottish Cup finalists, Lady Rocks. This is the first time the teams have met this season and coaches Kara and Chelsea will need everyone to be at the top of their game.
Good luck to all our players over the weekend and if you can't make the games, you will be able to follow their progress on Facebook. If you are at a game and you see no one posting the scores then please let us know how the team is doing.
