U14 Boys Scottish Cup‏ - Kings v Blaze

First round for U/14 boys in the Scottish Cup started with a game against local rivals Blaze.

The game started quite nervously with both side missing baskets in the first few minutes. After the nerves settled Kings started to shine with baskets from Rory, Fergal and Stuart to take the first quarter 11 - 4.

With the rules slightly different from RDL games we started to sub in players throughout the half and Finlay, Daniel and Blair started to make their mark on this game. Kings going into the half time 25 - 16 up.

The second half started with good defence and the fast breaks began. Owen, Kyle Craig and Thomas were all fighting for the ball and resulted in some very nice turnovers and baskets to boot, 3rd quarter ended 40 -31 in Kings favour.

Blaze player Lorcan was a constant thorn in our defence with a personal tally of 23 points, more work required there. The 4th quarter saw all players on the court and powerful display from Stuart and Blair with Daniel hitting a 2 plus 1 at the end saw Kings finish with a 59 - 40 win.

This win was a shared win, with all the players contributing to a great game and some very positive coaching from Neil and Holly (I may be redundant!). Well done all and thanks to the parents who as always support our kids.
