Some tickets are still available for the Basketball Festival taking place on 5th January 2013 at the Centre for Sport and Excercise, 46 The Pleasance, Edinburgh. This promises to be a great celebration for our Club, showcasing our youngest players from Sunday Hoops up to the Under 16s before culminating in the BBL Trophy game.
If you haven't got your tickets yet, you can reserve them by emailling the club email address:
cityofedinburgh@gmail.com
Please state how many under-16s tickets (£3) and how many over-16 tickets (£5) you require. All players who are taking part in the festival will get a free entry to the whole day including the BBL game but all other spectators must be in possession of a ticket.
The timetable for the day is as follows :
- 9:30am: Doors open
- 10:00am: U16 girls game
- 11:00am: U16 boys game
- 12noon: Lothian Phoenix wheelchair game
- 1:00pm-3:45pm: U12/14 tournament games
- 4:00pm: BBL Trophy game warm up
- 5:00pm: BBL Trophy game (City of Edinburgh Kings v Glasgow Rocks)
We are delighted that James Matthews is going to MC the earlier part of the day for us. James, as well as being the parent of Rosie, is a Sky News reporter so we are in good hands. Our very own resident DJ Simon Flockhart will be providing the music. For the BBL game our game announcer and MC will be Graeme Easton aka Woosh who most of you will recognise from the Scottish Cup finals.
We want to make sure the players can hear a loud home support so feel free to bring along any noise makers you have and lets fill the Pleasance with noise!
The tuckshop will be open all day and will be serving filled rolls, sweets and cold drinks (we aren't allowed to sell hot drinks unfortunately).
On that note, if anyone is available on Friday night between 7pm and 8pm to come along to the Pleasance and help make up the filled rolls, we will be delighted to see you.
