U18 Women - Kats v Fury

Kats came up against Fury in their first game in three weeks. This was going to be the last time these teams would meet in the league this season.

From the start Kats put Fury under pressure forcing turnovers which resulted in nice fast break lay-ups. Fury were not going to let that stop them and responded with some close range baskets from effective cuts in offence.

Kats took a time out and regrouped, after which, defence in the half court set improved and continued to do so for the remainder of the half. Half time score, Kats 29 - Fury 12.

Fury came out in the second half with a change in defence. Against their zone Kats became a little static at times, but after some team communicating, offence began to flow and better ball movement was seen. The inside players worked well together as did the perimeter guards.

With sharp passing and good penetration we saw some nice basketball from the girls. Kats did a great job of winning a number of defensive rebounds which allowed us to get the ball up the floor quickly for more fast break opportunities. Final score - Kats 65 Fury 29.

Kats next game is against St Mirren on Friday night at Porty, 7.50pm tip.
