All of the City of Edinburgh National League teams are on the road this week. The Cadet and Junior Men are off to Perth and the Senior Men, Senior Women, Junior Women and Cadette Women are all in Glasgow. The Senior Men's Local League team are the only ones playing at Portobello this weekend with an 11am tip off on Saturday against Gracemount Panthers.
The Cadet Men fresh from their win last week over Glasgow Rens will be looking to repeat their victory over Perth when the teams last met, whilst the Junior Men, who welcome their very own Olympian Gregor Gray back into the team, will also be looking for the same result as last when they won by 31 points.
The Senior Men will be playing Glasgow University in what will be a practice for the Cup Final when these teams will meet again. The men will be hoping to gain the psychological upper hand with a comprehensive victory in this game.
This weekend the women are all playing on Sunday. First up is a huge game for the Senior Women who will face third place Glasgow Rocks, with two Edinburgh women's teams locked together at the top of the league, every game is a must win. The pressure is on as Polonia have already played Rocks and got narrow 8 point victory.
The Cadette Women and Junior Women also play Glasgow Rocks. The Cadette Women will be hoping to bounce back from their heavy defeat last week by St Mirren as this young team look to improve on the result when they last met Rocks. The Junior Women should have an easier task against a Rocks team which they defeated by 20+ points but after the disappointing loss last week to St Mirren, there will be no complacency.
This weekend also sees the Junior Men Division 2 team travel to Glasgow on Sunday where they will face Grampian Flyers and Edinburgh Lions. The team will be hoping to continue their tremendous performance in this league where they are at the top of this league having only lost one game from 8.
Also on Sunday the younger members of the Club will take part in the next round of the Regional Development League. The Under 12s will be playing at St Augustines High School, the U14 girls will be at Tynecastle High School, the U14 and U16 boys will be at Stevenson College.
The U16 girls will finally get a chance to play in the RDL with games at Forrester High School. For the U14s these games will be the last games to see who qualifies for the National Challenge, so good luck to all.
