Scottish Cup success for Cadets

Congratulations to the U16 Kings, who held on to their Scottish Cup crown with a well deserved 67-53 win over Boroughmuir Blaze on Saturday. Blaze put in an great effort to keep the game tight well into the final quarter - ensuring that parents and supporters were on the edge of their seats! With Blaze commiting an extraordinary number of fouls they were well and truly punished at the free throw line, with Rian Neill scoring an amazing 19 out of 23.

Thanks to Hazel Wood for this great picture.

Rian finished as top scorer on 27 points, followed by Ryan Brown on 9 - as a result of some excellent outside shooting. Well done to all the boys! You can read the full match report, see post-match interviews and check out the match statistics on the basketballscotland website.

Unfortunately, it was not to be for the Senior Women who went down 60 – 72 to Glasgow Rocks on Sunday. Behind for most of the game, the Kats fought back to within four points in the final quarter, only to see the Rocks pull away again. Top scorers for the Kats were Sarah O’Brien with 13 and Emma Findlay with 12. Again, you can check out basketballscotland for the full details.
