Weekend preview 26th and 27th October

An exciting weekend ahead for the Club, it's not often you get a chance to appear in a film! Lots of reasons to get yourself down to Portobello tomorrow. First up the Junior Women hope to continue their fine start to the season when they face the Lady Rocks at 11am. Whilst the Kats the current league leaders with 2 games under their belt, this is the first game of the season for the Lady Rocks. Next up at 1pm the Senior Women for the second weekend in a row feature in THE women's game of the weekend as the top two teams in the league who are both unbeaten are pitted against each other. Lady Rocks come into the game with two large margin wins over Fury and St Mirren in the league while Kats have already beaten Polonia and Fury in the league and St Mirren in the Cup, so it should be a cracker of a game! Of course there is the small matter of Rose's first game back at Portobello to add to the excitement. With a big crowd expected, make sure you get there early.

The Senior Men were scheduled to face Granite City Grizzlies in the Scottish Cup at 3pm, but unfortunately Grizzlies had to withdraw from the game due to lack of available players, so Kings go into the next round without a single bounce of the ball. So instead of the game the Senior Men will play an exhibition game for the cameras followed by a chance for the younger players to take to the court with some of the Senior Men and Women.

The day will be rounded off by more filming and photographs.

On Sunday at Portobello the Senior Men are playing Glasgow University at 12noon. Glasgow Uni had close games against both St Mirren and Fury and with ex-Kings player Calum Nicol in their ranks they are always a tough opponent. Interesting day for the Nicol family as brother Craig is Kings assistant coach and father John will be there with his video camera.

There should be some top quality basketball on display all weekend so look forward to seeing you at one of the games.
