This Saturday sees all the National League men's teams head west to face Glasgow teams. First up are the Cadet Men at Eastbank Academy against the newly promoted Glasgow City. Both teams are chasing their second win of the season and Glasgow City will be hoping to do the Edinburgh double after their win over Boroughmuir whereas Kings will be hoping to bounce back from their defeat by St Mirren. Over in the south side of Glasgow the Junior Men face Glasgow Rens, due to the fuxture clash, coach Jim Wright will have to do without the two Cadets, Kyle and Konrad, who normally strip up for the Juniors. Rens are always a tough team to play against but Kings will be hoping to continue their winning streak and move up the table. In the last game of the day at 1:30pm the Senior Men will play Glasgow Storm at North College. Kings are by their own high standards have had a slow start to the season and coach Doug Reilly will be hoping that his new look team will be able to build on the promise shown in the previous games.
Sunday's games kick off with the Junior Women against Polonia at the Crags at 11:20am, with only one game played in the league Kats will hope to keep their place at the top of the league with a win. Then at 3:20pm comes the undisputed game of the weekend as two of the teams tied at the top of the women's league meet for the first time this season as the Senior Women play Polonia. This game assumes even greater significance as it sees the return of Rose Anderson to the Kats' side. Polonia come into the game smarting from their surprise defeat in the Cup to Falkirk and Kats are on a high after their magnificent win over St Mirren so this game should be an entertaining affair.
The Senior Men's Lothian League side will get their season started on Sunday in Livingston at 2:15pm against Central Jaguars. The new management team of James Scott, Scott Walker and Audrius Ciapas will be looking for a strong start to the season from a team that is a blend of old, familiar faces and quite a few new ones.
Good luck to all!
