The Club was sad to learn of the death of Jim Lay - Head coach at St Maurice's/Glasgow Rocks on Friday 9th Dec.
Jim was the founder of the then Lady Gladiators Club 6 years ago and the driving force behind that Club.
We have had many hard encounters against Jim's teams over the years and we will greatly miss him being around. He brought many top players through in the Women's game in Scotland going back to his time teaching at Eastbank Academy, up to the present time.
Our last game against Jim was the Junior Women's game on Friday 2nd Dec and he was also around for the Cadette and Senior Women's games last Sunday 4th Dec. He seemed in great form and his death was a great shock to all of us at the Club and all who knew him in Scottish basketball.
Our thoughts are with Lisa and the whole Rocks Club.
