Cup Finals here we come!

Congratulations are due to the Senior Women's and Cadet Men's teams who both won their semi-finals last Saturday to earn a place at the Scottish Cup Finals next year.

The Senior Kats faced a tricky tie away to Falkirk Fury at the Mariner Centre (never an easy venue to get a result!) and came away with a 66-51 victory. Their cup final takes place on 5th February 2012 against Glasgow Rocks.

The U16 Kings were also playing Fury, but despite home advantage at Portobello were trailing for much of the game. An improved second-half performace saw them overtake Fury and build a small lead during the final quarter. Despite not playing their best basketball of the season, the team were disciplined enough to close out the game with a 5 point margin. Final score Kings 52, Fury 47. They now face Boroughmuir Blaze in the cup final on 4th February 2012.

Good luck to both teams in February who will be aiming to hold on to their Scottish Cup crowns from last year.
