Big weekend of basketball coming up

This weekend sees Cup, National League and Lothian League action taking place at Portobello, Glasgow and Falkirk.

First up on Friday are the Senior Men who take on Aberdeen University in the second round of the Scottish Cup at Portobello High. The Aberdeen team were perhaps surprising winners in the first round, beating National League team Glasgow Storm. Meanwhile, in Falkirk, the Junior Men launch their Cup campaign with a tough tie against Fury at the Mariner Centre, where they are sure of a hostile reception.

Saturday sees league action coming to Portobello, with the U16 Kool Kats also up against Fury. Unfortunately, the Junior Women will still need to wait a bit longer to get their National League season underway, as the game versus the U18 Falkirk team has been postponed.

Next up, the Cadet main are also in Cup action against Team Ayrshire Tornadoes, a team they have already beaten convincingly in the league just a few weeks ago.

Finally, the Senior Men Lothian League team take on Edinburgh Lions in their second game of the season, also at Portobello.

We will also be holding the second 200 Club draw of the season so this could be your lucky weekend!

Why not check out a game or two this weekend at Portobello?

And of course, the Kings Senior Men are set to take on the Glasgow Rocks in the first round of the BBL Cup on Sunday. So if you would like to travel by bus to the Kelvin Hall please let Clare Mackle know by the end of Thursday.
