In a pulsating, bruising encounter at Marr College on Saturday, the Junior Men knew exactly what they had to do to wrest the League title from Troon Tornadoes. With the Kings only defeat of the season being at the hands of the West Coast team, with a score of 49-57 as long as the Kings won by a bigger margin then they would take the title.
The team then endeavoured to make their task even more difficult by going 5 behind to a strong Troon team but the team fought back and with some cool heads amidst the mayhem at the free throw line, they won the game by 11 points.
As he presented the league trophy Colin Haldane called the game "an excellent advert for Scottish Junior basketball", a sentiment loudly applauded by the packed hall.
