The City of Edinburgh Kings and Clark Eriksson Fury have been here before. These two programmes faced off in last year's final. That kind of history along with their back and forth in National League play sets the table for a great game.
Davy Rowan got things of the mark with a jump shot at 9:15 for the Kings. The Kings followed that up with a pair of free throws and a jump shot by Lee Reilly to race out to a 6-2 lead. The Fury were not long in waiting to turn things around. Ali Fraser blocked Kings forward Callum Nicol and that sparked a 5-0 run that put the Fury up 7-6. Ali Mackay responded with a lay up for Edinburgh, but Jonny Bunyan answered right back with a three. The teams battled back and forth to end the quarter at 14-14.
Action went back and forth in the second quarter until Ali Fraser nailed a jump shot with 4:17 on the clock. That started a 7-0 run for the Fury who pushed out to a 30-21 lead. Ali Mackay ended the drought for the Kings with 1:37 remaining. The teams traded buckets and a final shot from Ali Mackay at the buzzer crept the Kings to within six 34-28.
