The City of Edinburgh Senior Women squad made a short sortie across the border on Sunday 4th Jan to play Northumbria in Newcastle. This was to help prepare for the 2nd half of the season and to work off the Christmas excesses.
We had a successful day and a good victory against the English 2nd division team by 50 points. It gave the team a chance to work on some new plays and get a good run out.
Having played Leeds Carnegie earlier in the season and lost by only 5 points we think our present SW squad would be competitive in the English Div 1.
We now look forward with enthusiasm to our remaining games in the League and Cup.
